Title: ACES Act
Vote to pass a bill that requires the Department of Veterans Affairs to agree with the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine to study and report on the prevalence and mortality of cancers among veterans who served on active duty as aircrew members and regularly flew in fixed-wing aircraft.
Requires the Department of Veterans Affairs to agree with the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine to study and report on the prevalence and mortality of cancers among veterans who served on active duty as aircrew members and regularly flew in fixed-wing aircraft (Sec. 2).
Specifies that these cancers include the following (Sec. 2):
Brain cancer;
Colon and rectal cancers;
Kidney cancer;
Lung cancer;
Melanoma skin cancer;
Non-Hodgkin lymphoma;
Pancreatic cancer;
Prostate cancer;
Testicular cancer;
Thyroid cancer;
Urinary bladder cancer; and
other cancers as determined appropriate by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs, in consultation with the National Academies;
Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall take effect immediately upon passage and approval by the President (Sec. 2).
