Vote to concur with House amendments and pass a bill that repeals the requirement for parking spaces for new developments in Washington.

Highlights:

• Amends and modifies provisions related to certain minimum parking requirements for new developments in Washington (Sec. 1). 

• Establishes the Parking Reform and Modernization Act (Sec. 7). 

• Prohibits cities from requiring more than 0.5 parking spaces per multifamily unit or more than one parking space per single-family home (Sec. 2). 

• Prohibits cities from requiring more than two parking spaces per 1,000 square feet of commercial space (Sec. 2). 

• Prohibits cities or counties from requiring parking for any of the following (Sec. 2):

• Residences under 1,200 square feet;

• Commercial spaces under 3,000 square feet;

• Senior housing;
