Title: Prohibits Foreign Governments From Purchasing, Acquiring, or Leasing Agricultural Land
Vote to pass a bill that prohibits certain "adversarial" foreign governments from purchasing, acquiring, or leasing agricultural land in North Carolina, effective December 1, 2025.
Prohibits adversarial foreign governments from purchasing, acquiring, or leasing agricultural land in North Carolina to ensure farmers are able to produce a safe, abundant, and affordable supply of food for Americans (Sec. 1).
Prohibits adversarial foreign governments from purchasing, acquiring, or leasing real property situated within a 75-mile radius of a military installation (Sec. 1).
Specifies that if the Attorney General believes a violation of the provisions of this bill has occurred, they shall investigate and may issue certain subpoenas (Sec. 1).
Authorizes a court to appoint a general receiver to conduct the sale of real property held by an adversarial foreign government in violation of the provisions of this bill (Sec. 2).
Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall take effect December 1, 2025 (Sec. 4).
