Title: Reduces the Minimum Age for Possessing and Carrying a Firearm from 21 to 18
Vote to pass a bill that reduces the minimum age for possessing and carrying a firearm from 21 to 18 in Iowa.
Amends the age requirements for receiving a permit for, possessing, or carrying a firearm from 21 to 18 years old in Iowa (Sec. 2).
Specifies that an individual is guilty of a Class D felony if they sell, loan, or give a firearm to someone under the age of 18 (Sec. 3).
Specifies that the provisions of this bill still prohibit anyone under the age of 21 from acquiring a handgun (Sec. 2).
