Title: Reduces Requirements for Utility Scale Solar Energy and Industrial Battery Storage Facilities

Vote to pass a bill that reduces requirements for utility scale solar energy and industrial battery storage facilities in Oklahoma.

Highlights:

  • Requires that for utility-scale solar energy and associated battery storage facilities, excluding residential solar energy panels shall include the following (Sec. 1):

    • Cannot be located 500 feet from an occupied residence unless the owner of the residence agrees;

    • Shall not be located within 50 feet of any outer boundary of the facility property;

    • Must be over 100 feet from the centerline of any public road; and

    • Must be a half mile away from any public school or hospital.

  • Specifies that this shall apply to ten megawatt and larger solar energy and associated battery storage facilities and applies to current projects in development that do not have an interconnection agreement in place (Sec. 1).
