Vote to pass a bill that increases state driver's license fees in South Dakota.

Highlights:

• Increases driver license fees in South Dakota to include the following (Sec. 1):

• A $38 fee for an original driver's license application;

• A $38 fee for renewing a driver's license; and

• A $20 fee for a duplicate license, name change, or address change.

• Requires all fees collected under the provisions of this bill to be credited to the state motor vehicle fund (Sec. 1).

• Requires that $5 from every original or renewal license fee be used to administer the Division Highway Patrol (Sec. 1). 

• Specifies that if an individual’s license is revoked or suspended, they may apply for license reinstatement by paying certain required fees (Sec. 2). 

• Specifies that the application for a commercial driver's license is $43 (Sec. 5).
