Title: Requires Retroactive Child Support from Conception Date
Vote to pass a bill that requires retroactive child support from conception date in Texas.
Authorizes a court to order retroactive child support for the child beginning on the earliest possible date of the child’s conception, as determined by (Sec. 1):
A physician using standard medical practice; or
A preponderance of other evidence presented to the court including the testimony of a parent of the child.
Authorizes along with the retroactive child support, the court to require an equitable portion of all prenatal and postnatal health care expenses of the mother and the child be paid also (Sec. 1).
Specifies that the court shall confirm the amount of retroactive child support and render a cumulative monetary judgment for the total amount owed (Sec. 1).
Authorizes the court to order retroactive child support if a court renders an order under this chapter that establishes a man's paternity of the child or establishes a child support obligation for a man whose paternity has been established by the execution of a valid acknowledgment of paternity regarding the child (Sec. 2).
