Highlights:

• Limits and restricts the types of food that can be purchased with SNAP benefits in Iowa (Sec. 1-2).

• Requires the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services to seek a federal waiver to implement the restrictions (Sec. 1-2).

• Authorizes a $1 million appropriation for the Double Up Food Bucks program, but specifies that the funding is contingent on federal approval of the SNAP waiver (Sec. 1-2).

• Authorizes the state to request a federal waiver that would restrict what products Iowans can buy with Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) dollars (Sec. 1-2).
