Title: Authorizes Terminally Ill Individuals the Right to Self Administer End of Life Medication
Vote to pass a bill that authorizes terminally ill individuals the right to self administer end of life medication in Delaware.
Defines terms related to health care and end-of-life services for terminally ill individuals (Sec. 1).
Specifies that nothing in this act lessens requirements for informed consent requirements (Sec. 1).
Requires attending physicians or attending ARPN to provide information to patients regarding their terminal illness, all treatment options, and all alternative measures (Sec. 1).
Specifies the requirements for who can decide on ending one’s life via medical assistance (Sec. 1).
Authorizes a patient who is receiving end-of-life care to receive medication to end one's life humanely after two oral requests (Sec. 1).
Specifies that a written request may also be made (Sec. 1).
