Vote to concur with House votes and pass a bill that authorizes certain executive branch reorganization and eliminates certain positions and departments in West Virginia.
Authorizes certain executive branch reorganization and eliminates certain positions and departments in West Virginia, including eliminating the Department of Arts, Culture and History (WVDACH) and transferring its divisions, boards, and agencies to the Department of Tourism (Article 2I).
Prohibits new hires or those promoted within the reorganized departments of Commerce and Tourism from being protected by classified civil service protections beginning July 1, 2025 (Article 2I).
Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall take effect immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor (Article 2I).
