Title: Repeals Expiration Dates from Restrictions on Transgender Youth

Vote to pass a bill that repeals expiration dates of certain sections regarding restrictions on transgender youth in Missouri.

Highlights:

  • Repeals the expiration date of August 28, 2027 for the following provisions related to transgender youth in Missouri and establishes them as permanent under the bill (Sec. 191.1720, 163.048):

    • Prohibits health care providers from performing gender transition surgery on an individual under the age of 18 in Missouri;

    • Prohibits health care providers from prescribing or administering cross-sex hormones or puberty-blocking drugs for a gender transition for any individual under the age of 18;

    • Prohibits schools from allowing students to compete in athletics competitions that are designated for the biological sex opposite to the student’s biological sex as stated on their birth certificate.

  • Requires that any health care provider who violates the provisions of this bill have their license to practice revoked (Sec. 191.1720). 

  • Specifies that any school district who violates the provisions of this bill shall be subject to penalties including losing state funding (Sec. 163.048).

  • Specifies that the Federal Reimbursement Allowance shall expire in 2029, unless reauthorized by the General Assembly (Sec. 208.437).
