Vote to pass a bill that requires feedback from SurveyWorks incorporated into state assessments of schools in Rhode Island.

Highlights:

• Requires local education agencies incorporate the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education’s SurveyWorks school climate indicators feedback into state assessments of schools in Rhode Island (Sec. 1).

• Defines “local education agencies” to include the following (Sec. ):

• Public school districts;

• Regional school districts;

• State-operated schools;

• Regional collaborative schools; and

• Charter schools and mayoral academies.

• Defines “school climate indicators” as the following factors used to determine school quality, including, but not limited to (Sec. 1):

• Absenteeism;

• Test scores; and 

• Graduation rates.

• Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall take effect immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor (Sec. 2).
