Title: Prohibits the Use of Machine Gun Conversion Devices
Vote to concur with House amendments and pass a bill that prohibits the use of machine gun conversion devices, including Glock switches in Alabama.
Prohibits possessing, obtaining, receiving, sale, and use of parts designed or intended to convert a pistol into a machine gun (Sec. 1).
Specifies that violations of this bill is a Class C felony (Sec. 1).
Specifies that the provisions of this bill does not apply to (Sec. 1):
State or local law enforcement officers acting in an official capacity;
An individual who has possession of a firearm with the prohibited parts that is registered in the National Firearms Registration and Transfer Record; or
Any part or combination of parts that increases a pistol’s rate of fire but does not enable the firing of more than two shots by a single function of the trigger without a manual reload.
Specifies that the effective date of this bill is October 1, 2025 (Sec. 3).
