Title: Establishes New Structure for State Judge Salaries
Vote to recede and concur with House amendments and pass a bill that establishes a new pay structure for the salaries of Georgia state judges.
Repeals the current salary structure for each Justice of the Supreme Court, Judges of the Court of Appeals, and Judges of the Georgia State-wide Business Court (Sec. 1).
Establishes the annual salary of each state official listed below shall be set by the General Assembly in the General Appropriations Act, provided that such salary shall not exceed the ration of the base salary listed below for such official (Sec. 1):
Justices of the Supreme Court 100 percent;
Judges of the Court of Appeals 99 percent;
Judges of the Georgia State-wide Business Court 95 percent; and
Judges of the Georgia Tax Court 95 percent.
Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall take effect immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor (Sec. 2).
