Vote to pass a bill that amends policies for filling legislative vacancies in West Virginia.

Highlights:

• Establishes the process to compose and submit a list by the political party of the person who held the office immediately preceding the vacancy shall be governed by the rules of the state executive committee of that political party (Sec. 1).

• Specifies that no person shall be appointed to fill a vacancy in the office of state senator or as a member of the House of Delegates who has not for one year preceding the appointment been a resident within the district he or she will represent (Sec. 1).
