Vote to pass a bill that expands state medicaid programs in Montana.

Highlights:

• Requires the department to provide an opportunity to participate in an employment assessment to individuals who are participants in the workplace development program and receive assistance for health care services (Sec. 1).

• Requires the employment assessment to identify barriers to employment for individuals receiving assistance for health care services (Sec. 1).

• Requires the department to contact and assist the participants of the program with the completion of the employment assessment (Sec. 1).

• Requires the department to provide workforce development services following the completion of the assessment, including (Sec. 1):

• Education and training; and

• Supportive services that assist participants in obtaining items necessary to participate in the workforce.

• Requires entities contracted to provide workforce development services to report the services provided quarterly, including (Sec. 1):

• Number of clients enrolled in the program; 

• Types of services provided;

• Number of clients who obtained a credential or measurable skill;

• Number of clients who exited the program;

• Number of clients who exited the program to employment;

• Amount and type of outreach done to recruit participants; and

• amount of money spent on participants.

• Requires the department to report when a participant has received all of the reasonable assistance available to the Department of Health and Human Services (Sec. 1).

• Authorizes the department to discontinue assistance after providing the Department of Health and Human Services with notice (Sec. 1).

• Requires the department to report to the legislative finance and the children, families, health, and human services committee the following information (Sec. 1):

• The activities taken to establish the employer grant program; 

• The number of employers receiving grant awards; and

• The services provided and the total cost of providing the services.

• Specifies that this bill is effective on October 1, 2025 (Sec. 3).
