Title: Authorizes Law Enforcement Officials to Enter into Agreements with ICE
Vote to concur with House amendments and pass a bill that authorizes law enforcement officials to enter into agreements with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) or other federal agencies to help enforce federal immigration law in New Hampshire.
Specifies that neither the state nor any county, municipality, or other political subdivision of this state shall prohibit or impede any state, county, or local law enforcement agency from applying for entry or entering into an agreement with the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to participate in a federal 287(g) program under 8 U.S.C. section 1357(g) (Ch. 106-P, Sec. 1).
Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall take effect beginning 60 days after passage and approval by the Governor (Ch. 106-P, Sec. 2).
