Title: Continued Rapid Ohia Death Response Act
Vote to pass a bill that authorizes and enables federal agencies including the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS), and U.S. Forest Service (USFS) to more closely coordinate with the State of Hawaii to prevent the spread of Rapid Ohia Death (ROD).
Authorizes and enables the following federal agencies to more closely coordinate with the State of Hawaii to prevent the spread of Rapid Ohia Death (ROD), including (Sec. 2):
The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS);
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS); and
The U.S. Forest Service (USFS)
Defines “Rapid Ohia Death” for this bill to mean the disease caused by the fungal pathogen known as Ceratocystis fimbriata that affects the tree of the species Metrosideros polymorpha (Sec. 2).
Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall take effect immediately upon passage and approval by the President (Sec. 4).
