Title: Expands Eligibility for State Unemployment Benefits to 26 Weeks
Vote to pass a bill that expands eligibility for unemployment benefits to 26 weeks and increases maximum payments from $362 to $614 in Michigan.
Expands eligibility for unemployment benefits from 14 to 26 weeks and increases maximum payments over the next 3 years by the following amounts, including (Sec. (Sec. 27):
For claims filed on or after January 1, 2025, $12.66 for each dependent and the maximum weekly benefit not exceeding $446;
For claims filed on or after January 1, 2026, $19.33 for each dependent and the maximum weekly benefit not exceeding $530; and
For claims filed on or after January 1, 2027, $26 for each dependent and the maximum weekly benefit not exceeding $614;
Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall take effect immediately upon passages and approval by the Governo (Sec. 27).
