Highlights:

  • Specifies the woman authorized to apply for a special registration plate that displays an appropriate vignette preceding the registration numbers and has “woman veteran” inscribed as the following (Sec. 1). 

    • Was an active member of the Michigan National Guard, the United States Armed Forces Reserve, or any branch of the United States Armed Forces and was during a war or an armed conflict; or

    • Was a retired or honorably discharged member of any branch of the United States Armed Forces, including reservists and National Guard; 

  • Requires application on a form prescribed by the secretary of state and must be accompanied by proof of the above section (Sec. 1). 

  • Requires the Secretary of State to issue registration plates for each =applicant (Sec. 1). 

  • Prohibit the use of special registration plates for vehicles not specifically issued to, and specifies such action as a misdemeanor (Sec. 1); 

  • Specifies a special registration plate issued expires on the birthday of the vehicle owner. Specifies that the applicant is not required to give the proof specific above for renewal (Sec. 1).
