Vote to pass a bill that amends appointment regulations for the Illinois State Historic Preservation Board to specify it shall consist of 9 voting members appointed by the Governor .

Highlights:

• Establishes the State Historic Preservation Board, to consist of 9 members appointed by the governor and the Director of the Department of Natural Resources, who will serve as a non-voting member (Sec. 4.7, b).

• Requires board members to have experience in either museums, historic preservation, or archival work (Sec. 4.7, b 1-6).

• Requires 5 of the board members to be members of historically marginalized communities (Sec. 4.7, b).

• Authorizes the board with the power to list, delist and change the designation of Illinois State Historic Sites with the approval of the Director of Natural Resources (Sec. 4.7, h 2).
