Title: Establishes the Violent Crime Prevention Act

Vote to pass a bill that establishes the violent crime prevention act in West Virginia.

Highlights:

 

  • Requires West Virginia Law Enforcement agencies to submit Ballistic data to the National Integrated Ballistic Information Network for any firearm that is used in the following offenses (Sec. 1): 

    • Felony crime of violence;

    • Domestic violences;and 

    • Distribution of a controlled substance. 

  • Requires that Data shall be submitted by a law enforcement agency within one month of a charge brought upon an individual in the above three categories (Sec. 1).
