Title: Prohibits PFAs in Menstrual Product
Vote to concur with Senate amendments and pass a bill that prohibits perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalky substance in menstrual products in California.
Prohibits any person from manufacturing, distributing, selling, or offering for sale in the state any menstrual products that contain regulated PFAS, as defined. The bill would require the Department of Toxic Substances Control to adopt regulations on or before January 1, 2029 (Sec. 1).
Requires the department to publish on its internet website, on or before January 1, 2027, a list of accepted testing methods for testing for regulated PFAS in menstrual products (Sec. 1).
Requires a manufacturer of menstrual products to register with the department, on or before July 1, 2029, and to provide to the department specified information and a registration fee (Sec. 1).
