Vote to concur with Senate amendments and pass a bill that establishes restrictions on PFAS Substances for the purposes of household product safety in California.

Highlights:

  • Requires manufacturers of juvenile products, textile articles, and food packaging to register and provide the Department of Toxic Substances Control the following (Sec. 2):

    • The name and a description of each covered product it manufactures;

    • The applicable registration fee; and

    • The statement of compliance certifying that each covered product is in compliance with the applicable covered PFAS restriction.

  • Requires the Department of Toxic Substances Control to issue a notice of violation that does the following (Sec. 2):

    • Assess an administrative penalty against a person or entity in violation;

    • Require compliance with the applicable covered PFAS restrictions; and

    • Require the person or entity to cease the sale or distribution of a covered product.

  • Requires the Department of Toxic Substances Control to determine, on a case-by-case basis, the amount of any penalty (Sec. 2).
