Vote to pass a bill that amends sections 21543, 21544, and 21545 of the State Elections Code relating to elections in California.

Highlights:

• Requires the Citizens Redistricting Commission in the County of Riverside to adjust district boundaries in accordance with the criteria set forth in the FAIR Maps Act of 2023 (Sec. 1). 

• Requires the Citizens Redistricting Commission to follow additional procedures relating to the translation of materials (Sec. 1). 

• Prohibits members of the commission from communicating with an individual regarding redistricting matters outside of a public meeting (Sec. 1). 

• Prohibits a member from engaging in certain activities while serving on the commission and for three years thereafter (Sec. 1). 

• Increases the duties on local officials, the bill would impose a state-mandated local program (Sec. 1).
