Title: Limits Faculty Participation in Decision Making
Vote to pass a bill that limits faculty participation in decision-making and reduces and weakens language around shared governance in Arizona.
Reduces and limits faculty participation in decision-making and weakens language around shared governance by establishing a “consult” role for faculty (Sec. 1-2).
Defines “shared governance” for this bill as the collaboration between faculty, staff, and students with the highest-level university leaders at the state’s public universities (Sec. 1-2).
Repeals language from previous Arizona laws that empower faculty members of each university through their “elected faculty representatives” to “participate in” the governance of their respective universities (Sec. 1-2).
Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall take effect immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor (Sec. 2).
