Vote to concur and pass a bill that amend death benefit statutes after remarriage in Colorado.

Highlights:

• Requires death benefits to be paid to a dependent widow or widower for life if the dependant or widow receives a death benefit pursuant to this section and the deceased was a state employee who worked in a job with high-risk classification (Sec. 11).

• Defines jobs with high-risk classification as the following (Sec. 1II):

• An employee of the Colorado state patrol who is vested with the powers of a peace officer described in section 24 or is a port of entry officer as described in section 16; 

• An employee of the department of corrections who is classified in the corrections officer I through through corrections officer IV class titles; 

• An employee of the department of corrections who is a community patrol officer as described in section 16;
