Vote to pass a bill that prohibits real estate listing providers from engaging in unfair business and creating unfair agreements for individuals interested in real estate property in Connecticut
Defines unfair real estate listing agreement as any agreement that does not require the real estate agent to engage with components of a listing within a year time period (Sec. 1).
Specifies that unfair real estate practices can be labeled as deceptive trade (Sec. 2).
Defines record as presenting an instrument to the town clerk to then place in the town land records (Sec. 1).
Defines rerecord as presenting any information that has been recorded previously in the town land records (Sec. 1).
Prohibits individuals from recording or rerecording unfair listing agreements and prohibits the individual from providing other related notices (Sec. 3).
Requires individuals who have an interest in the property that is subject of an unfair agreement to declare the agreement to be void in the superior court (Sec. 5).
Authorizes the commissioner to request a temporary restraining order for anyone found to be violating the various provisions of the legislation (Sec. 8).
