Vote to pass a bill that establishes a task force on silver and gold coinage in Missouri.

Highlights:

• Defines the term “Specie” (Sec. 1). 

• Authorizes the State treasurer to keep in the custody of the state treasury an amount of specie less than or equal to one percent of total state investment holdings (Sec. 1).   

• Specifies that nothing in this act shall require the state treasurer to invest any state funds and funds received from the United States government (Sec. 1). 

• Specifies that The treasurer may promulgate all necessary rules and regulations for the administration of this section including, but not limited to, providing secure storage of gold and silver (Sec. 1). 

• Establishes the Task Force on Silver and Gold in Missouri (Sec. 1). 

• Specifies the membership of the task force and the makeup from both parties (Sec. 1). 

• Requires the task force produce a report on their findings by the end of 2025 (Sec. 1).
