Title: Prohibits Wakeboarding and Wake-Surfing Under Certain Conditions
Vote to pass a bill that prohibits and regulates wakeboarding and wake-surfing under certain conditions on certain fresh waters of the state of Alabama.
Prohibits and regulates wakeboarding and wake surfing under certain conditions on fresh waters of the state, including the waters of the state impounded by Martin Dam (Lake Martin) and Weiss Dam (Weiss Lake) (Sec. 1).
Specifies that on the waters of the state impounded by Lewis Smith Dam (Lewis Smith Lake), by R.L. Harris Dam (Lake Wedowee or the R.L. Harris Reservoir), by Martin Dam (Lake Martin), by Weiss Dam (Weiss Lake), or on Shoal Creek in Lauderdale County north of Highway 72, an individual may not operate a motorboat above idle speed within 100 feet from any (Sec. 2):
Shoreline,
Dock,
Pier,
Boathouse, or
Other structures that are located on the impounded waters.
Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall take effect beginning October 1, 2024 (Sec. 3).
