Vote to pass a bill that requires the provision of electric car charging stations on at least 2 percent of parking spaces at roadside service areas within the state.

Highlights:

• Requires the New Jersey Turnpike Authority and the South Jersey Transportation Authority to provide electric vehicle charging stations for at least 2 percent of parking spaces of each roadside service area within 1 year of the effective date of this act (Sec. 1).

• Authorizes the New Jersey Turnpike Authority and the South Jersey Transportation Authority to recover the costs associated with the installation of, and provision of electricity through, the electric vehicle charging stations from the motorists who use the stations, in proportion to their use (Sec. 1).
